Hot summer days create heavy demand on the energy grid when operating refrigerated air conditioning units increases. The Energy Wise Savings Program allows us to work together to be more efficient and reduce peak demands, which can also save you money.

The Program works with your smart thermostat to learn your preferred settings and help manage your energy use while keeping you comfortable during periods of high demand. By participating in Energy Saver Events to reduce energy use at peak times, you're helping our community and EPE reduce peak demand on the system.

Here's how it works:

Once you sign up

The Energy Wise Savings Program syncs to your thermostat to understand what keeps your family comfortable and how your home uses energy.

It's going to be a scorcher!

Occasionally on those really hot days when demand for energy is high, we'll schedule an Energy Saver Event. This is when the Energy Wise Savings Program will begin!

Personalized Comfort

On event days, the Energy Wise Savings Program checks your preferred settings and pre-cools your home when demand for energy is lower. You'll be comfortable throughout the Energy Saver Event, and when it's over, your settings will return to normal. You'll be notified when an event is scheduled, we'll take care of the rest.

Stay in control, stay informed

Our smart technology will automatically adjust the temperature for you, but you always have control and can override automatic adjustments at any time. To keep you informed, we'll email you a report explaining how your home contributed after every Energy Saver Event.

Make a difference

By participating in the Energy Saver Events you are helping to keep energy efficient and affordable for the community, and making a real impact on the environment. To thank you for your continued participation, we'll be sending you a $25 Prepaid Mastercard at the end of each additional year you participate.
